Interpreting

Interpretation is simply oral translation. A good interpreter is capable of rendering a spoken message with precision, discretion, and speed. To guarantee optimal quality, interpreters prepare themselves for each new assignment, making a thorough study of relevant material prior to the event.

  • Selecting the appropriate service
Our professionals will evaluate the client’s specific needs to determine the most appropriate type of service.

Modes

  • Simultaneous interpretation (booth)
In simultaneous translation, interpreters use a booth and earphones to translate the speaker’s words as they are being delivered. Interpreters work in pairs, in 20-30 minute intervals, as interpreting is a highly demanding mental task exercise. While one interpreter speaks, the other listens attentively, always ready to resume speaking. This form of interpretation is most commonly used at seminars and conferences.

In a meeting, on the other hand, in which only one or two people require the service, the interpreter sits next to the listener(s) and whispers the translated content.

  • Consecutive Interpretation
In consecutive interpreting, the interpreter hears the message, takes notes, and then, after a variable interval of time, transmits the message in synthesized form to the listeners, while preserving the full content.
  • Escort Interpreting
In this mode, the interpreter accompanies the client during visits to factories, fairs, or other events and locales.
